He met Bakst who was half-oriental because of his flavour for brilliant colours.Lissim was under the influence of Bakst at his beginning. This influence was the powerfullest and decisive but not the only one. His earlymastery of theatral decor made him distinguished by Lugne-Poe who carried out of his collaboration at the Théâtre de l'Oeuvre("Le feu à l'Opéra"," Le Mort à cheval", "La Farce des Encore"....) He still worked for the Théâtre de l'Atelier("La Quadrature du Cercle"), the Théâtre Antoine("La Prochaine").He worked also for the Royal Opera de la Monnaie in Brussels and for the Riga National Theater.
