"The Life of Puccini"realized by Falcone in 1962.Gouache27,5 x 21,5 cm; Yuri Georhes Annenkov is born in Kamtchatka, in an old family whose several members belonged to the Russian intellectuals and rformators.Passionned of painting and setting in scene, he studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts of Saint-Petersbourg in 1898 before coming to Paris in 1911 where he will find several of his compatriots, like Chagall, Zadkine, Pougny.In 1924, after the death of Lenine he emigrated definitively to France where he will be devoted especially to the creation of costumes for the cinema but also in the creation of costumes for the theatre and Opera.He collaborated with Christian Jacques, Jacques Delannoy, Marcel Lherbier but Annenkov worked more regularly with Max Ophüls; "Ronde"(1950);Lola Montes(1955).
